Boise seo hires new CEO for company that owns the Phoenix and Orlando sports franchises

— Boise Seo Inc., the world’s largest outdoor gear retailer, announced Monday it is hiring a new executive vice president, adding to a group of high-profile hires in its quest to expand its business.

The move by Boise Seos, the largest of a handful of outdoor apparel and footwear retailers in the United States, marks the latest step by Boise as it seeks to build out its operations and expand its global reach, the company said.

The hiring of Gary B. Davis, a 36-year veteran of the retailer, will help bolster the company’s ability to attract customers and to make sales, Boise said in a statement.

Boise Seons parent company, the Outdoor Brands Group Inc., is part of the Outdoor Alliance, which includes outdoor retailers, athletic apparel companies and brands such as Nike, Under Armour and Reebok.

The Idaho-based company also announced Monday that its president and chief operating officer, Craig O’Keefe, has been promoted to president of outdoor sales.

O’Keefe, who was Boise SeoS executive vice-president of sales for six years, has a background in sports merchandising, and previously served as vice president of sales at Outdoor Brands.

He will report to Brian Gorman, president of the company, and Michael Buehler, president and CEO.

Buehler is the founder and CEO of the Colorado Avalanche hockey team.

Boeing and the Boise Seoes parent company announced the hiring of Davis, who has a track record of leading acquisitions, including the acquisition of the Oregon-based Stampede Brewing Co. in 2014.

Davis also served as chief operating and financial officer of the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer, and in 2014, he became the companys first director of sales and merchandizing, according to the company.

Bueshler was an executive vice chairman of the United Soccer League’s Portland Timbers, and he was a member of the U.S. Soccer board of directors.
