How ‘The Hunger Games’ turned Hollywood on its head: The Hollywood Reporter

The film adaptation of the ‘Hunger Games’ series has won the top prize at this year’s Venice Film Festival, and is now the most watched film in the history of the event.

The animated feature is playing in 4,000 theaters across the globe, according to IMDb.

The film is being released as part of the Summer Olympics and has won best picture, best director, best actress, best actor and best original screenplay honors at the festival.

The film, directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Jennifer Lawrence, stars Lawrence, Matt Damon, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Liam Hemsworth and Oscar Isaac.

The Venice Film Fest is held every summer in Venice, Italy.

This year, the festival honored the movie with a star-studded lineup including a star power lineup featuring actors from ‘The Hangover’ to ‘Breaking Bad’ to “American Sniper.”
